Google Pixel Watch 3 in the test

Google Pixel Watch 3 in the test

The biggest innovations of the Pixel Watch 3 are in the display. The smartwatch is now available in two sizes: Like the previous generations, the model we tested has a diameter of 41 millimeters, which is suitable for small and normal wrists. Stronger people can now also choose a model with 45 millimeters. The large Watch 3 has a slightly larger battery on board to compensate for the higher power consumption of the larger display. The two watches do not differ technically.

The display on the small smartwatch is 1.2 inches (around 3 centimeters), while on the larger model it is 1.4 inches (around 3.6 centimeters). The pixel density of both is 320 dpi, which guarantees a perfectly sharp display. According to Google, the display edge is now narrower. Our 41 millimeter model was around 3 millimeters thick, so you can only see the improvements in a direct comparison to its predecessor (test).

Since most apps and watch faces use a black background, the frame doesn’t stand out in a negative way anyway. We rate it positively that the Pixel Watch 3 shines brighter than its predecessor and is easy to read even in direct sunlight.
