General Election 2024: Date, time and where to watch Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir poll results

The much-awaited results of the 2024 assembly elections for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to be announced on October 8. The counting process begins at 8 a.m., with election officials and party representatives arriving at counting centers at 5 a.m.

The counting will begin with mail-in ballots designed and allocated for specific groups such as people with disabilities, security personnel and employees of essential government services.

The polls for the single-phase Haryana Assembly elections 2024 were held on October 5 and witnessed a voter turnout of nearly 68 per cent, according to the Election Commission. As many as 1,031 candidates are in the fray for 90 seats in Haryana.

Top contenders in the fray include incumbent Prime Minister Nayab Singh Saini, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat, who ventured into politics after the recently concluded Paris Olympics.

The three-stage polls for the 90 seats in Jammu and Kashmir ended on October 1, marking the first general elections in the Union Territory since 2014. J&K recorded a vote share of 63.45 per cent, higher than the voter turnout in the April-June Lok Sabha elections.

Prominent candidates in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections include Iltija Mufti (PDP) – Bijbehara-Srigufwara, Omar Abdullah (NC) – Budgam and Ganderbal, Ravinder Raina (BJP) – Nowshera and Tariq Hamid Karra (Congress) – Central-Shalteng .

Haryana exit poll result 2024

The results of the 2024 Haryana exit polls indicate that the Congress is likely to defeat the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana and is expected to win nearly 60 seats in the 90-seat Assembly, where the majority stands at 46.

C Voters Haryana Exit Poll Result 2024: According to C-Voter, the Congress is expected to win 50-58 seats while the BJP is expected to win 20-28 seats. The poll shows 0-2 seats for JJP+ and none for INLD+ and AAP. The Others are forecast to win 10 to 14 seats.

Peoples Pulse Exit Survey Results: According to this poll, the Congress is expected to win 49 seats while giving the BJP 24 seats. One seat is predicted for JJP+ and none for INLD+ and AAP. The poll assumes “Others” will get 16 seats.

P-Marq Haryana Exit Polls 2024 Results: According to P-Marq, the Congress will come to power in Haryana with 56 seats while the BJP will win 31. It gives zero seats to JJP+, INLD+ and AAP while giving three seats to the others.

Haryana Matriculation Exit Survey 2024 Results: Matrix predicts 55-62 seats for the Congress and 18-24 seats for the BJP. 0-3 seats are predicted for JJP+, 3-6 seats for INLD+ and 2-5 for Others. The matric poll has predicted zero seats for the AAP in Haryana.

Besides the BJP and the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the INLD-BSP and JJP-Azad Samaj Party alliances are the main competing parties.

Jammu and Kashmir exit poll 2024 result

The BJP remained confident it will get a “huge mandate” in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, even as polls predicted the Congress will make a winning run in the northern state and the Union Territory, which will face its first post-abrogation assembly election in the year Voted in 2019, a mixed result was achieved on Article 370.

The Congress-North Carolina alliance has been given an edge over the BJP in J&K, with some expecting 30-40 seats, which could see it fall short of the majority of 46 required in the 90-seat Assembly.

Dainik Bhaskar predicted the NC-Congress combination could win 35-40 seats. The BJP could end up with an impressive 20 to 25 seats. With 12 to 16 seats, independent candidates could overtake the PDP, which may get 4 to 7 seats.

Gulistan The poll predicted a much closer contest with 31-36 seats for the NC-Congress combine and an impressive 28-30 for the BJP. It also suggested a “kingmaker” role for independent candidates who might end up with 19 to 23 seats and the PDP could be eliminated with 5 to 7 seats.

C voters Opinion poll predicted 30-48 seats for the NC-Congress coalition, with the BJP winning 27-32. The poll showed that the PDP could potentially get 6 to 12 seats in the end, equaling the Independents who could get 6 to 11 seats.

People’s Pulse survey suggests that the NC-Congress combination could emerge victorious with 46-50 seats while the BJP could win 23-27.
