British Columbia’s election campaign is nearing a critical juncture as the three main party leaders will face off in a televised debate on Tuesday.

It is the campaign’s only televised debate before Election Day on October 19th.

Supporters of New Democrat leaders David Eby, British Columbia Conservative John Rustad and Green Party leader Sonia Furstenau see the debate as an opportunity for their candidates to deliver messages to voters under the bright lights of television.

In the campaign so far, Eby and Rustad have traded insults about supporting conspiracy theories and weak leadership.

Both Eby and Rustad were in the Okanagan, British Columbia, over the weekend. Eby promised to attract more doctors, nurses and health workers to rural communities with a loan forgiveness program, and Rustad in Kelowna promised to put an end to tent camps.

As Election Day approaches, primary voting is available October 10-13 and October 15-16, with the final day of voting being October 19.

Also linked to the election on Sunday were photos on social media showing vandalism at Vancouver billionaire Chip Wilson’s property and the sign he put up saying the NDP is “communist.”
