Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election 2024 Result: Votes will be counted today

It’s results day. Votes for elections in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir will be counted today. Election polls predicted a clear victory for the Congress in Haryana, adding that the National Conference-Congress alliance will emerge as the largest party in Jammu and Kashmir.

If the election outcome predictions come true, it would be a major setback for the BJP since its losses in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Warning: The election polls are not always right. They have been way off the mark in the past. The most recent example is the parliamentary elections.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday expressed confidence that they would be able to form a government “on their own” and said they had “made all arrangements”.

The single-phase elections for 90 constituencies in Haryana concluded peacefully on Saturday at over 20,000 polling stations, recording a final voter turnout of 65.65 per cent.

Omar Abdullah on Saturday dismissed the exit poll results for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, saying only the numbers that would be announced at the end of counting on October 8 would matter.

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, the first in almost a decade, were held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1.
