A Russian minesweeper was damaged in an attack by Ukrainian defense intelligence

As a result of a successful special operation by the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Agency (HUR), the minesweeper “Aleksandr Obukhov” of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy was seriously damaged.

This was reported by the HUR press service, reports Ukrinform.

“The ship, which was stationed in the city of Baltiysk and intended for combat use, suffered serious damage – a mysterious hole appeared in the engine’s gas pipe through which water seeped in. The Obukhov ‘suffocated,’” the agency wrote.

It is noted that the minesweeper will now be forced to undergo major repairs. This could prove to be a serious problem for the enemy, as the damaged M-503 engine was “a rather rare item”. In addition, repairing the key element of the ship would be technically demanding and costly, the report said.

It is recalled that only in July the ship fell out of repair in a dock in St. Petersburg.

The minesweeper Aleksandr Obukhov is the second ship from the Russian Navy’s Baltic Fleet to be affected in the last six months.

As reported, in April, as a result of the HUR operation, the Serpukhov missile boat was put out of action.
