Alexander Zverev wants to defend his title at Red Bull BassLine

The innovative Red Bull BassLine tennis tournament will be back in Vienna on Friday, October 18, 2024. This year, for the first time in the history of the tie-break tournament, the tennis stars will be playing in the Wiener Stadthalle – and the first tennis top star has already been confirmed: last year’s winner Alexander Zverev will defend his Red Bull BassLine title.

After the successful years at the Vienna Heumarkt, we’re heading to the big stage in 2024. And your wish: Red Bull BassLine is not a regular tennis tournament: As a start to the first Bank Open, six of the best players in the world will gather for a unique tie-break tournament in the Wiener Stadthalle. The game is played while DJ Instyle drops rousing beats for players and spectators.

If you don’t want to miss the fourth edition of Red Bull BassLine on October 18, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. in the Wiener Stadthalle, you can still secure tickets for Red Bull BassLine: Tickets for Red Bull Bassline 2024 are available here!

Alexander Zverev is of course the ideal man for an event like Red Bull BassLine: The 2021 Olympic champion loves the big stage, is a well-known quick starter – and with his serve he has a weapon that is particularly useful indoors and in a short format comes. In addition, Zverev has fond memories of the Wiener Stadthalle: he won the Erste Bank Open here almost three years ago.

The rules are as follows:

  • Six athletes occur in one Tie-break tournament against each other. This will be short Tie breaks up to 5 points played. The matches will take place in Best-of-three format decided.
  • The top two athletes will be ranked according to world ranking position Group headsplaced into two groups. The rest Four athletes will be drawn into the two groups.
  • Play within the assigned group Every player against everyone.
  • The Coin toss Decides which player starts serving.
  • Each player has two serves. After 6 points have been played, the player whose turn it is receives three serves (2/2/2/3).
  • Short tie break to 5 – Whoever gets five points first wins the set – Possible results: 5:0, 5:1, 5:2, 5:3, 5:4.

The focus for players and fans alike is on having fun with tennis. And the music. Turntables meet tennis!

Be there live in the Wiener Stadthalle, on free TV or via live stream
