New function for smartwatches: This is how Huawei wants to revolutionize contactless payments

From December 2024, contactless payment will be more convenient for Huawei users. The Huawei Watch Gt 5 series and Huawei Watch Ultimate Green Edition are receiving a software update that enables NFC payments. Users can then use their smartwatches to pay conveniently and securely – without a smartphone or wallet.

The NFC payment function is initially available for Android™ smartphones. iOS users will receive the function during the first half of 2025. Payments can be processed quickly and securely using the Quicko Wallet app – one move of the smartwatch is enough to carry out transactions in seconds.
