NFL: Kansas City Chiefs beat New Orleans Saints

The Kansas City Chiefs clinched their next win at the end of the fifth NFL game day. The New Orleans Saints meanwhile suffered two setbacks.

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to be in top shape on their mission to defend their NFL title. The Super Bowl champions also won their fifth game of the season, finishing 26:13 against the New Orleans Saints.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 331 yards, but he didn’t manage a touchdown. I brought in a Kareem Hunt for the hosts’ points. The running back, who returned to the franchise, had a successful night and ran for 102 yards and a touchdown.

In addition, rookie receiver Xavier Worthy also found himself in the end zone after a 3-yard rush. Kicker Harrison Butker was responsible for the remaining points with four field goals.

Tight end Travis Kelce was also able to convince again. With superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift watching, he made nine catches for 70 yards. The 35-year-old was part of a special move. On a second attempt and an immense 34 yards to overcome, he was thrown over the middle by Mahomes and then – as in the past – passed the ball to a teammate.

The lateral pass found a receiver in Samaje Perine, who subsequently came within a yard of a new attempt. This was achieved a little later and the drive ultimately resulted in a field goal.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints had no reason to be happy. Quarterback Derek Carr had 185 yards and two touchdowns – a 43-yard pass to Rashid Shaheed and a 6-yard pass to Foster Moreau – but he also had to accept a pick. With just over nine minutes left in the final quarter, he had to leave the field with a torso injury.

Besides the Chiefs, only the Minnesota Vikings are undefeated this season. The Chiefs are aiming for the “three-peat”: Kansas City can become the first team to win the NFL title three times in a row. The Saints have already suffered their third defeat in a row and now have a record of 2:3
