Bhupinder Singh Hooda election result 2024 live: Ex-CM leads by a huge margin from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat

Bhupinder Singh Hooda Election Result 2024 Live: Counting of votes for Haryana Assembly elections has begun. Voting in the state took place in one round on October 5 and recorded a voter turnout of 61 percent. One of the key seats being talked about in Haryana is the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat in Rohtak district, which was a stronghold of the Congress leader and former chief minister of the state – Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

According to early trends, the former CM is currently holding the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat. Hooda had won the seat in the 2009, 2014 and 2019 Haryana assembly elections.

The veteran Congress leader has been a two-time chief minister and a four-time MP and is seen as the likely CM candidate of the Congress party, although there has been no official announcement yet. The opposition leader in Haryana is a prominent Jat leader in a state where the community is playing a major role in determining the outcome of today’s vote in about 40 of the 90 seats.

Who is Hooda’s opponent from Garhi-Sampla-Kiloi constituency?

Hooda is contesting against Manju Hooda (BJP), Pravin Guskhani (AAP), Sushila Devi (JJP) and Krishan (INLD) in the Garhi-Sampla-Kiloi constituency.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda prime candidate for Haryana CM?

Hooda is the main candidate for the post of Haryana CM if the party comes to power. Another heavyweight and Dalit leader from Haryana, Kumari Selja, has thrown her hat into the ring and unsettled the playing field for the Jat star. AICC general secretary and Lok Sabha MP Selja has publicly staked claim to the CM’s post and said that the high command will take the final decision on who should lead the state if the party wins tomorrow. Hooda, who had a say in selecting over 70 of the party’s 90 candidates in Haryana, would be the obvious choice for the top job if the exit poll results hold true.

Haryana Assembly Election Results 2019

In 2019, the BJP formed the government with the support of the JJP while most independents also gave their support. However, the post-election tie between JJP and the BJP ended after the saffron party replaced Manohar Lal Khattar with Nayab Singh Saini as chief minister in March this year.
