As “Deadline” reports, among others, the new episodes will start this year. More precisely on December 19, 2024. This early date was not necessarily expected. When Netflix unveiled its 2024 schedule in February of this year, “Virgin River” was still missing. So far there was talk of a start in 2025.

First pictures: Mel and Jack look into the future

According to media reports, Netflix will make all ten episodes of “Virgin River” season 6 available in one go on December 19th. The first pictures for the sixth season are already here. The various couples from the series can be seen on it, especially Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge, 42) and Jack (Martin Henderson, 50). In the fifth season, the two experienced a severe blow of fate: Mel suffered a miscarriage. Nevertheless, the two are sticking to their wedding plans. In the photo from season six, Mel and Jack look worriedly into the future.

By the end of the fifth round, Mel had met her biological father, Everett. After the older man initially wanted nothing to do with his daughter, he then shows up at her house. However, a picture of him is missing from the overview for season six.

There are pictures of young Everett on Netflix’s press page. He is dating a young version of Mel’s mother. Their hippie-like outfit suggests that they will appear in flashbacks from the late 1960s or early 70s.

The flashbacks in season six probably advertise the first spin-off of “Virgin River”. As it became known in February 2024, the makers are planning a prequel series about Mel’s parents.
