Mom reveals passive-aggressive “back to school” note a teacher left in her daughter’s lunchbox

Mom reveals passive-aggressive “back to school” note a teacher left in her daughter’s lunchbox

A British mother has sparked debate online after sharing a photo of a note she said was left in her daughter’s lunchbox by a teacher at school.

The Reddit user, who goes by the name Mrs. Thompson, claimed that the teacher put a piece of paper with a picture of a packet of chips on it in her daughter’s lunch container.

Below the photo were the words “No chips please,” and the teacher appeared to criticize the contents of the tiffin box.

The angry mother, who appears to be from the UK, captioned her post: “That passive-aggressive note in my daughter’s lunchbox today.”

“Back to school.”

The post sparked strong reactions from other Reddit users. One person suggested the mother send her own message back.

“Write ‘They weren’t for you’ at the bottom and give her a new one tomorrow with her name on it,” one Redditor suggested.

Another Reddit user suggested, “Send her to school with ten packets of chips and she can make money selling them to the school.” [sic] Black market.’

A third quipped: “I’m going to pretend your daughter put it there because that’s what makes it funny.”

One optimistic Reddit user theorized that the school teacher was “actually disappointed” about the lack of chips in the student’s lunchbox, adding that they had made a “Lionel Hutz-level mistake.”

“No chips? Please!’ You corrected the note on behalf of the teacher.

Another social media user shared how she cleverly circumvented a similar directive issued when her son was still in school.

“When my son was in school, I received a message like this and asked for a plan from the entire faculty.” [sic] “After all, if you care so much about my son’s diet, I should do the same about yours,” they wrote.

“I never got that plan and my son continued to eat during school, much to the benefit of the teachers.” [sic] Disgust, I imagine.’

Another parent recommended “hiding” the chips “if the school continues to be moronic.”

“I transfer my son’s chips into a small pot because he has trouble opening the package and won’t ask for help because he’s an angry, stubborn jerk (he’s five and already angry at the world!), “ they shared.

“Might help cover it up if the school continues to be moronic…”

Last month, an Australian woman took to TikTok to share the lunch box complaint she received from a fellow parent at her daughter’s school in Sydney.

Mum-of-four Steph sought advice after receiving a message from her daughter’s friend’s mother asking her not to put healthy treats in her eight-year-old’s lunchbox because her own child wanted them too .

The parent further explained that she couldn’t afford to buy fresh berries for her daughter’s lunch and didn’t want to “upset” her.

Steph decided to ask other TikTok users for advice on how to deal with the situation, which sparked a lively debate in the comments section.

“Part of me feels bad…they play together and she can’t afford the strawberries and blueberries as I understand it,” she told her followers on TikTok.

“But then why should my daughter miss out?”

Steph asked viewers for advice on how to deal with the situation.

“I don’t want conflict, but I don’t know,” she said.

Some TikTok users wondered if Steph could pack her daughter a larger portion of berries to share with her friend, while others said the other parent’s request was unreasonable and “not your problem.”
