Is the PS5 Pro reduced on Amazon Prime Deal Day?

Fans had to wait a whole four years for an official sign from Sony. Now there is finally clarity regarding the Playstation 5 Pro: The big upgrade for the world’s most popular console will be released on November 7th, 2024. Mark Cerny, lead architect of the PS5, announced this during a Sony presentation on September 10th. The price has now also been determined: an impressive 799 euros!

You can pre-order the PS5 Pro since September 26th. We’ll show you which retailers are likely to offer the premium console and what’s inside it.

Playstation 5 Pro: Pre-orders possible soon

So far only Sony itself is accepting the first orders.

For the official online shops, pre-orders are unlikely to begin until October 10th. You should then keep an eye on the following retailers: Amazon, MediaMarkt, Saturn and OTTO.

However, the dates mentioned are not set in stone. The pre-order phase can be postponed at any time. We’ll keep you updated here.

New PS5 Slim at OTTO and Amazon: Now partially reduced

The Sony community can be happy: The PS5 Slim is there! It is currently available at OTTO and you can also buy it at Amazon.

As with the Playstation 4, the addition “Pro” means more power and even better graphics performance. The classic rendering on the PS5 Pro is said to be 45 percent faster compared to the Playstation 5. It should also be possible to choose a combination of fidelity and performance mode for some of the games shown. But a brand new technology will probably be the biggest game changer: PSSR (Playstation Spectral Super Resolution). This feature is used to machine learn additional images. More precisely, more displayable pixels, which also reduces the load on the hardware. Sony is clearly following Nvidia (DLSS) and AMD (FSR), which already score points with similar AI patents for high-end PCs.

PSSR will be particularly effective in real-time ray tracing and will triple performance. Thanks to ray tracing, the game can display indirect light reflected off corners, semi-transparent objects with light shining through them, and realistic shadow effects.

As with the Playstation 4 Pro, the PS5 Pro also gets a boost mode. According to a press release from Sony, a total of 8,500 PS4 and PS5 games will receive an automatic performance boost that will offer a more stable frame rate and a more dynamic higher resolution.

However, nothing changes at all with the DualSense controller. Why should it be, the gamepad with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers has already proven itself very well. Optionally, you can expand the Digital Edition of the PS5 Pro with an external drive. Sony already introduced this feature with the slim models.

PS5 vs. PS5 Slim: What’s new?

In 2023, the PS5 Slim will bring the first variant of Sony’s latest generation of consoles onto the market. The fact that a lot has changed visually – especially in terms of size and weight – is quickly noticeable: at 3.2 kilograms, the PS5 Slim with drive is around 1.3 kilograms lighter than its predecessor.
