Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Election Result 2024: Check who won with the highest margin of votes

Devender Singh Rana of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured the highest margin in the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Rana defeated Joginder Singh of the National Conference, a party he was a member of until 2021, by a margin of 30,472 votes.

He was one of the two candidates who won by a margin of over 30,000 votes – the other candidate was Surjeet Singh Slathia, who belongs to the BJP. Slathia won the Samba Assembly seat by a margin of 30,309 votes, defeating independent candidate Ravinder Singh.

Notably, four of the five biggest victories were won by BJP candidates.

Senior Congressman Gulam Ahmad Mir, who led the state unit between 2015 and 2022, won the Dordu seat with 29,728 votes. He had previously won the seat in 2002 and 2008.

BJP’s Sham Lal Sharma came a close third, winning his Jammu North seat with 27,363 votes.

Mohan Lal of the BJP won the Akhnoor seat, defeating Ashok Kumar of the Congress by a margin of 24,619 votes.
