For the first time in ten years, the Federal Ministry of Economics has presented a forest inventory – the topics of the evening with Julia Kretschmer:

The report by Agriculture Minister Cem Ozdemir gives little cause for celebration: For example, in recent years the forest has given off more carbon than it has absorbed. This worsens the consequences of climate change. The drought and beetle infestation in particular are causing problems for the forests. The good news: The forest area in Germany remains stable and the proportion of deciduous trees is also growing.

Competitiveness at BASF headquarters is to be strengthened

The management of the chemical giant and the Rhineland-Palatinate state government met for regular consultations. On this occasion, Economics Minister Schmitt called for better conditions for companies. BASF boss Markus Kamieth spoke of challenging times.
