Rohtak Assembly election result

In Rohtak, Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Batra emerged victorious in a tough contest. He defeated BJP’s Manish Kumar Grover by 1,341 votes.

Both candidates faced each other in the 2019 general election. The Congress leader had defeated Grover by 2,735 votes.

Bijender Hooda of Aam Aadmi Party came third with 1,188 votes. Indian National Lok Dal candidate Dilour Mehra managed to secure only 428 votes.

Rohtak Assembly constituency falls under Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency, the stronghold of Congress veteran Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The 77-year-old Congressman won from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, which is also part of Rohtak LS seat. Hooda won with a convincing margin of 71,465 votes, defeating Manju Hooda of the BJP.

“We narrowly lost a lot of seats. We have received complaints from many places and will meet the Election Commission. The result comes as a surprise to us,” Hooda said on the overall results of the assembly elections.

“The Congress is united. You can see the BJP, Anil Vij didn’t come out of his house and Ram Bilas Sharma’s ticket was cancelled. In a democratic party, there can be “Matbhed” (difference of opinion), but there is no “Manbhed” (difference of thought). Maintaining coordination is everyone’s job. We have received complaints about the batteries of the EVM, somewhere it was 99 percent while somewhere it was 70 percent,” he added.
