Pöllauer Sportklub II triumphs confidently against UFC Wenigzell-Waldbach II – Football Styria – results, tables and goal scorers from all STMK leagues.

In the high-scoring duel of the 8th round 1st Class South/East A the guests sat down Pöllauer Sports Club II clearly against UFC Wenigzell-Waldbach II by 4:1. Despite the home advantage, the hosts found no remedy against the Pöllau team, who were superior in terms of play and tactics. A dominant performance from Pöllau secured them the away win. Michael Hofer scored the consolation goal for the home team with a penalty in the 89th minute.

First half: the visitors take the lead

The first few minutes quickly showed the balance of power: Pöllauer Sportklub II appeared dominant and left no doubt about their superiority. After just over twenty minutes it was clear that the guests were the dominant team. In the 39th minute, Pöllauer got the deserved 1-0 lead thanks to Florian Köck, who was successful with a header. Shortly before, a shot from Tobi had put the home team in trouble, but the ball was blocked in time. Despite a solid defensive performance, Wenigzell-Waldbach could not prevent the guests from taking a lead into the half-time break.

The first half was characterized by a strong performance from the guests, who created several chances. Even though Pöllau missed a great chance through Chri Derler, the team remained very present offensively. Another sign of their dominance was when Florian Köck impressed with incredible diagonal passes and even cleared a ball on the line in the 43rd minute.

Second half: Pöllau extends the lead

Right at the start of the second half, the guests extended their lead. In the 48th minute, Michael Lebenbauer converted a penalty to make it 2-0. This lead gave the Pöllauer Sportklub II even more security and they controlled the game.

As the game went on, Pöllau seemed to feel more and more comfortable and increased the pressure on the hosts. In the 72nd minute, Julian Gleichweit increased the score to 3-0 with a great goal, and just two minutes later Manuel Pöttler made it 4-0, which ultimately decided the game. Wenigzell-Waldbach II was unable to counteract this onslaught and was largely concerned with limiting the damage.

Shortly before the end, however, the home team managed to score a goal. Michael Hofer converted a penalty in the 89th minute to make it 1:4 and thus scored the consolation goal for UFC Wenigzell-Waldbach II. Despite this late cosmetic result, the game was already decided and the guests could look forward to a well-deserved victory.

Pöllauer Sportklub II presented itself as a clearly better team that afternoon and deservedly took home three points. Wenigzell-Waldbach II, on the other hand, had to acknowledge the guests’ superiority and accept defeat.
