MatePad Pro 12.2: iPad Pro alternative launches in Germany with keyboard cover and stylus and is now available for pre-order

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 is now available for pre-order. Specifically, the price is 999 euros, and Amazon specifies the release date as October 11th. The package not only includes the tablet, but also a matching keyboard cover and a stylus. The pressure-sensitive stylus can be stored in the case.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 is definitely a competitor to the iPad Pro. The tablet has a special display technology, also known as tandem OLED. Peak brightness of 2,000 cd/m² can be achieved, and the tablet has an aspect ratio of 3:2, which is similar to that of the Surface Pro. The frame rate is 144 Hz and the resolution is a sharp 2,800 x 1,840 pixels. Huawei specifies the color deviation as Delta E less than 1 – such a color deviation can hardly be recognized.

Huawei does not name the SoC exactly, but it is said to be a Kirin T91, which has eight computing cores. The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 is equipped with 12 gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes of internal storage. Huawei puts the thickness of the tablet at 5.5 millimeters and the weight is stated as 508 grams – of course, these figures do not include the keyboard cover and pen. The 10,100 mAh battery can be charged with a charging power of 100 watts and eight speakers are installed. The main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels, plus an ultra-wide-angle camera and a front camera with a resolution of 16 megapixels. HarmonyOS is used.
