Setback for Amazon: Many Fire TV Sticks are now no longer allowed to be sold

Upon request, Amazon CHIP sent the following statement:

“We consider the decision of the Munich Regional Court to be wrong and are confident that the situation will be resolved soon. The verdict hasThere is no impact on existing customers and a wide range of Fire TV devices, including our best-selling Fire TV Stickstill available on Amazon.de. We are always willing to pay a fair price for patent licenses and have worked with a number of companies to license video patents of this type. Nokia is charging more than all of these companies combined and has rejected our fair and industry standard offer. We regret that Nokia is taking these measures to limit customer choice.”

Another court hearing is scheduled for 2025 in the UK.
