For Prime subscribers in the US, Apple TV+ will soon be available as an additional channel for $9.99 per month. The Apple streaming service’s track record is impressive: Apple originals have so far received 516 awards and 2,308 nominations, including several Emmys for “Ted Lasso” and an Oscar for Best Picture for “CODA”. We want to bring Apple TV+ and its award-winning library to as many viewers as possible. We’re thrilled that Prime Video will now offer Apple TV+, giving viewers an incredible range of viewing options.

This cooperation is not Amazon’s first step towards content aggregation. Prime Video already offers over 100 additional streaming subscriptions in the US. This strategy allows Amazon to position itself as a central point of contact for streaming content while benefiting from commissions.

For users, this development means above all more comfort. You can subscribe to and cancel Apple TV+ directly from your existing Prime Video account, without having to manage additional apps or accounts. It is currently unclear whether and when the offer will also be available in other countries.

The partnership between Amazon and Apple could also be seen as a response to increasing competition in the streaming market. By joining forces, both companies can strengthen their position and assert themselves against competitors such as Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max.
