There are streamers traveling to the Hurricane Milton evacuation zone to win a supposed $70,000 prize offered by another streamer with just an air mattress, an umbrella and ramen

There’s stupidity, and then there’s whatever that is. I wrote about Lieutenant Dan staying on his sailboat amid attempted evacuations by officials and the entire internet:

But what if I told you that there are streamers who aren’t even based in Florida and are traveling because of a challenge from another streamer? Well, it’s a reality after last time this guy I checked had 15,000 concurrent viewers who decided he was going to try and win the prize.

Apparently this challenge was started by some of these Twitter aggregation accounts that tweet streamer clips, and wasn’t actually intended for a streamer to attempt:

The original $70,000 was offered to friends of the streamer, and some used it as a chance to try to get rich by creating content about what appeared to be an extremely scary and dangerous hurricane:

The latest update is that the streamer who supposedly made the challenge in the first place is going into people’s chats there and telling them that they won’t be receiving any money:

What do you do when you’re already there and streaming? Is it too late to evacuate before landing in the next few hours? Stupid is just as stupid, so maybe it’s time to just get through it and hopefully everyone stays safe.
