According to an unconfirmed report from “Bild”, the suspect is said to have hurled an incendiary device into the Federal Employment Agency building at 7:50 p.m. He is then said to have set fire to a car parked in front of the house and fled towards the main train station. Among other things, a vehicle and a house near the train station were burned. When the man showed up at or in the cinema, the police stopped him. An ambulance then took the man who had been shot to a clinic. According to WDR information, the man wanted to go into the cinema with a Molotov cocktail and another weapon and was shot by the police in the foyer of the building. A police spokesman could not say at night whether the suspect was armed.
