PITTSBURGH, Pa. (KDKA) – Prosecutors say they will not seek the death penalty against the man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend at their workplace in Blawnox earlier this year.

Sean Black is accused Shooting and killing of Courtney Smith at Tri-Arc Manufacturing on Fountain Street in March.

Another man was also shot in the incident.

Police said Black and Smith had been together for several years and had several children together. The two had recently broken up and Smith was with the man who was shot, according to police.

A witness told police she saw Black and Smith wrestling before she was shot several times in the chest.

Black is charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

The case is scheduled to go to trial in January.
