Update from October 11, 2024: Red Dead Redemption will be released on PC 49.99 euros Costs – this is what the product pages on Steam and the Epic Games Store reveal. The PC port joins the versions for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, which have already been heavily criticized by fans for their high price.

Only Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick had defended the package of Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare as “great value for consumers”.

Original article from October 8, 2024:

Red Dead Redemption is still coming out for the PC

Despite the leaks, many open world fans had long held out hope that Rockstar would still have one PC port for Red Dead Redemption brings out. But in just a few weeks the time has come! In a blog entry, the studio announced that Red Dead Redemption and its expansion called Undead Nightmare are out October 29, 2024 will be released for the PC – via the Rockstar Store, the Epic Games Store and directly on Steam.

Rockstar leaves out the most important information

However, one important piece of information is missing from the blog entry: the price. Rockstar doesn’t reveal in a single line how much money PC players need for the PC port of Red Dead Redemption. However, we assume that the studio will get the new edition paid for royally. The version for PS4 and Nintendo Switch was released a year ago an impressive 49.99 euros to the start. We wouldn’t be surprised if Rockstar offered the same price for the PC implementation.

At least buyers get both the main game and the wonderful DLC for the price. What buyers have to do without, however, is the multiplayer of the original. The Steam page specifically states: “Red Dead Redemption includes.” no multiplayer content(Source: Steam). Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the entire package is worth 50 euros.

Good to know: The system requirements are moderate. RDR should still run solidly even on slightly older PCs. However, the scenes shown in the trailer also make it clear that the PC version is only one Port with small improvements acts. Fans shouldn’t expect the graphical quality of an RDR 2 either.
