Pixel Watch: Google brings new loading screen

Google has given its Pixel Watch 3 a new loading screen, which is now also finding its way onto older models with Wear OS 5. Gone is the green animation of the predecessor; instead, Google is using a simpler design with yellow accents.

The new display informs users about the time, battery level and date while charging. A nice extra of the Pixel Watch 3: The remaining charging time up to 100% is displayed to the right of the time.

Older Pixel Watch models also try to display this function, but are currently failing. However, Google will probably fix the problem with a future update. You’re familiar with problems, as the Wear OS 5 update won’t be rolled out again until later this year.

Until the next update, the previous models Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 show the date on the left and the month on the right – or the next alarm clock, if one is set. If you don’t yet see the new loading screen on your Pixel Watch with Wear OS 5, you should update the installed apps and restart the watch.
