Tank S2: Rugged smartwatch launches with GNSS, barometer and AMOLED at a reduced price

The Tank S2 from Kospet is a new rugged smartwatch that is now available via Amazon. The regular price is 150 euros, but a discount of 30 euros is granted until October 31st. The sale takes place through Kospet, Amazon takes care of the shipping – delivery is therefore possible very quickly.

The watch is equipped with a 1.32-inch display based on AMOLED technology, which has a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Operation is not only possible via the touchscreen, there are also four buttons on the watch. The manufacturer specifies a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd/m². If this information is correct, it should also be easy to read in sunlight.

The equipment is quite good – at least compared to the rest of the manufacturer’s portfolio. There is a GNSS module that supports dual-band operation and multiple navigation systems. Training sessions can also be recorded in terms of the distance covered, but more extensive navigation functions, such as those offered by Garmin in the Fenix ​​models, are completely missing.

There is an optical sensor for measuring, among other things, heart rate, as well as a compass and a barometer. The quality of sleep and everyday activity can be recorded, and smart features such as the display of notifications are available. The 350 mAh battery should last for a week even with heavy use, and the GNSS module could be used for 15 hours at a time.
