Ferdium is a flexible messaging app that can be individually expanded and customized. As a fork of the discontinued Ferdi, it is largely based on the common Franz template. Just like the model, the software aims to unite all web-based messaging platforms under one roof.

The functionality and handling is extremely simple. The vast majority of communication platforms offer a web-based interface on which the corresponding service can be used without local installation. Anyone who uses several such services knows the problem of constantly switching back and forth between a large number of tabs in order to stay up to date.

With Ferdium, all services can be managed clearly, logins can be saved and notifications can be used. The services can also be grouped into different work areas. An optional Ferdium account allows settings to be synced across multiple devices. It is also possible to operate your own Ferdium server – this way you can use the advantages of an account without giving away your own data. According to the developer, anyone who has previously worked with Franz or Ferdi can easily migrate their settings to Ferdium.

Support includes Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Discord, Skype and many more. You can also add your own services or services that do not exist in the standard configuration manually.

The free Ferdium is licensed as Free Software under the Apache License and is available for Windows, macOS, Linux and FreeBSD. Installation on Windows does not require administrator rights if the software is only to be set up for the local user.
