Kalaburagi (Karnataka) – Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said the party was analyzing the Haryana Assembly poll results and sought a status report to ascertain what led to the defeat.

He said his party was paying special attention to ascertaining what led to the loss of Haryana while keeping an eye on the upcoming elections, but ruled out that this result could have any impact on the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra.

“We are doing the analysis, along with Rahul Gandhi and other leaders, I held a meeting a few days ago for analysis and we are receiving status reports. How much blame lies with our workers, what role do our managers play and what happened? Whatever we receive in the reports, we will analyze on that basis and decide on the further course of action,” Kharge said.

Talking to reporters here, the Congress leader said that the party was paying special attention to the issue as the entire country was of the opinion that the Congress would win in Haryana and no one, including journalists or news channels, said the party would lose and the BJP will lose win.

“Whatever happened, we are analyzing it and then we will decide what to do. We will face several elections in the coming days, we will definitely look at it and keep the upcoming elections in mind,” he added.

The BJP won in Haryana for the third time in a row, dashing the hopes of the Congress.

Asked whether the Haryana results will have an impact on the upcoming elections in Maharashtra, the Congress leader said: “An election result will not have an impact on the elections in any other state, but the question is why the results turned out this way, even though the people were for us.” ?”

“We could have understood it if the opinion was 50:50 and half said that the results will be in our favor and the other half said otherwise, even though the entire country, including media, channels, print media , leaders and public opinion, is in our favor, what was the reason for this result? We have to find it,” he said.

When asked if there were any doubts about the electoral process, Kharge said he would not comment on it now and would respond after analyzing the status report.
