Start of school entrance examinations in the Lichtenfels district for the 2025/2026 school year

Start of school entrance examinations in the Lichtenfels district for the 2025/2026 school year

For most of the approximately 600 preschool children in the Lichtenfels district, starting school next year is a very exciting moment. The health department team at the Lichtenfels district office offers assistance as part of the school entrance examination in order to prepare young citizens for the start of school.

Support from parents is an important part of the school entrance examination. The parents know their child in all facets and can give important insights into their young life. Through this preliminary examination, health or developmental limitations that are important for school attendance can be identified in a timely manner and treatment options can be communicated in a timely manner. If language or motor delays occur, for example, advice will be given on individual support options. The aim is to give every child the same educational opportunities as possible when they start school. The examination is carried out by experienced social medicine specialists and, if necessary, supplemented by a medical examination, e.g. B. if the U9 is missing.

This year, the responsible employees of the health department are looking forward to all children born between October 1st, 2018 and September 30th, 2019, even if deferring the child or the so-called “corridor” is being considered. School entrance examinations will begin in mid-October 2024.

All parents first receive a personal invitation letter by post from the district office. This year, for the first time, selecting a desired date and recording your health history can be carried out completely digitally. Each letter contains a QR code that allows you to make an appointment. The child’s health data can then be recorded in an online form via a link.

Each child is guided through the school entrance examination in a playful way and is accompanied by the plush toy cat BESS. Basic topics include:

  • Discussion of health data
  • Checking motor skills and language
  • Vision and hearing test
  • Vaccination advice

If you have any questions, the employees are available on the telephone number 09571/18-2625 Gladly available.
