Rachaad White (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at New Orleans, making Bucky Irving’s first NFL start. He’s worth considering as the No. 2 running back in all leagues, and Irving is one of my favorite sleepers this week.

Irving showed promise in his rookie season, sharing touches with White. Irving has played four games this season in which he averaged at least 4.9 yards per carry, and he scored 11.4 PPR points against Denver in Week 3 and 12.5 PPR points against Philadelphia in Week 4, when he scored his only touchdown.

We haven’t seen Irving fully in the passing game yet, but he had 87 tackles in his last two seasons at Oregon. Tampa Bay likes to use its running backs in the passing game, and the Buccaneers are eighth in receptions among running backs with 26 running backs.

The Saints have had issues with running backs lately, as Saquon Barkley scored 31.6 PPR points against New Orleans in Week 3 and Kareem Hunt scored 18.7 PPR points in Week 5. In Week 4, Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier combined for 21.4 PPR points.

I’m confident that the Buccaneers will allow Irving to have more than 15 touches in Week 6. And if he can play a role in the passing game, Irving can excel.

This could be the start of Irving taking over Tampa Bay’s backfield, and we don’t know how long White will be out. I plan on using Irving in several of my leagues and he has a spot in the top 15, with White not expected to play.
