Arrests have been made following a shooting at an Evansville apartment that left one injured

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville couple is in custody after police say they were part of an armed robbery at Schnute Towers in which one victim was shot in the chest and stomach.

According to police, Jessica Robb and DeShawn Greenwell were arrested after they were involved in a suspected armed robbery at approximately 5:46 p.m. Saturday evening in which the victim was shot twice.

When questioned at the hospital, the victim’s son said his father sold marijuana out of his apartment. The victim’s son says as soon as Robb was let in, two male suspects stormed in with guns, hit his father in the head with the gun and demanded he hand over his “weed and money.” The victim said he believed the guns were fake and grabbed a shotgun, which ultimately led to him being shot twice.

The other two suspects in the alleged robbery have yet to be identified.

When police questioned Robb, she admitted to planning an armed robbery. She states that she knew the victim and that her trust was used to gain access to the apartment. The other two suspects are said to have had firearms with them. When asked what her share of the robbery would be, she replied that she would get nothing from it.

When questioning Greenwell, police said the other two suspects were “playing a prank,” which ultimately led to the robbery. They say the victim was targeted because they had purchased weed from him in the past. When he arrived at the apartment complex, Greenwell said he couldn’t go through with the plan.

According to authorities, surveillance video was retrieved that shows all four suspects inside the apartment complex. On the victim’s floor, the video shows that Greenwell was no longer part of the group. The other two male suspects burst into the victim’s apartment just seconds after Robb was let in.

The video shows the three suspects running out of the apartment about 20 seconds after their alleged break-in.

Jessica Robb was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, aggravated assault and possession of methamphetamine.

DeShawn Greenwell was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Both were being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail.
