American football currently – Texas remains No. 1

Texas remains No. 1 – Navy and Army ranked

The winners of Week 7 of the new AP ranking list in college football are quickly found. Oregon and Penn State each moved up one spot after their last-minute wins, and for the first time since 1960, Army and Navy were able to position themselves together in the AP rankings. Army’s 44:10 win against UAB particularly impressed the voting experts. Both military academies are still undefeated this season.

Oregon also continues to look good to the jury. The Ducks haven’t been rated as highly as they were this week since 2014. Texas, on the other hand, remains the undisputed number 1 in college football after the Longhorns defeated the Oklahoma Sooners. The majority of the jury continues to be convinced by Texas and gave them 56 out of 62 possible first place points. That’s four more votes than a week ago and the best rating for the Horns since the 2008 season.

As expected, Ohio State was punished for its loss to Oregon. They lost two places and the fact that Miami, Alabama, LSU, Iowa State and Clemson hardly gained or lost any ground speaks for a quieter week. Seven days ago the world looked much more adored when four top 10 teams had to give up.
