Former President Donald Trump gave an unqualified endorsement of incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) on Truth Social.

“Although I have verbally supported Ted on numerous occasions because of the importance of race and Ted’s importance to the future of our country, I thought the support should be put in writing,” Trump said in a post.

Cruz – who has served in the Senate since 2013 and is currently seeking a third term – is running in the 2024 Texas Senate race against Democratic challenger Colin Allred, who has served in the House since 2019.

The two men are scheduled to debate on Tuesday evening.
