Spotify’s music videos are reaching more and more subscribers – but not yet in the USA

Spotify is rolling out music video beta testing to 85 additional markets worldwide, allowing premium subscribers to watch a “limited catalog” of videos from artists including Charlie XCX, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, Fontaines DC, LISA and more.

However, this list of available territories does not yet include the US and it is unclear when it will reach us here. “As with all of our features, availability may vary by market and tier,” Spotify spokeswoman Brittany Le Roy said in a statement The edge. “Music videos on Spotify are still in beta and we look forward to making them available to more users in additional markets, including the US, in the future.”

With the broader rollout, Spotify is also adding the ability to instantly switch between audio tracks and videos using a new “Switch to Video” toggle, as well as indicators on tracks that show whether a music video is available. YouTube Music also lets you easily switch between music videos and audio-only streams.

Spotify first launched its music video feature in March, but only in the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Kenya, with Egypt joining later.

The list grows to 97 markets as the feature “begins rolling out today in new markets with a limited catalog of music videos – and will continue to roll out over the next few weeks.” Premium subscribers can check if music videos are live in their location by opening and searching the “Go to Video” button on supported songs.
