‘Danger!’ Fans upset by Ken Jennings’ “very difficult” decision

A “Danger!” The answer sparked a heated debate among game show fans.

During a recent episode of the popular game show, a verdict caused viewers an uproar over the mispronunciation of an answer.

Mark Fitzpatrick, a five-day “Jeopardy!” champion, chose the $800 clue from the “Just Doin’ My Job” category.

The prompt was: “Knows the proper use of propofol; can count up to 16 (letters in work); can tell people to count backwards from 100.”

While “Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings searched for the correct answer to “anesthesiologist,” contestant Eamonn Campbell appeared to mispronounce the word.

“Anaesiologist?” Campbell answered.

Despite giving the contestant another chance, Jennings continued to stumble over the correct pronunciation of the word.

“Anathesiologist?” he mispronounced again.

Another “Danger!” Contestant Dot White piped up with the correct pronunciation of the word and replied, “What is an anesthesiologist?” Jennings then accepted the correct answer.

Fans were quick to react to the questionable decision of the challenging request.

“Jeopardy and Ken Jennings mess up again… getting Eamonn out of his ‘anesthesiologist’ answer… unbelievable!!” one comment read.

Another fan wrote: “Are you kidding?!!! Eamonn Campbell can’t have a lisp… He just can’t pronounce ‘anaesthesiologist’.” Or maybe he just doesn’t know the word…”

Other viewers disagreed with the outraged fans and argued that the debate was very important.

“Not really. You could clearly see that the first “s” was missing from his pronunciation. He said “ana-theeze-iologist” as opposed to “ana-steeze-iologist.” Twice! @Kennings definitely made the right decision.

A “danger!” The fan simply reacted and wrote: “Pronunciation is important.”

This wasn’t the first time viewers criticized a controversial ruling on the game show.

Earlier this year, a ruling was issued on an episode of “Jeopardy!” had fans in their arms.

During an episode of the game show, contestant Kelly Proulx stopped by to answer a clue in the “Waterfalls” category. She added an extra “s” to the end of her answer, which was enough for host Jennings to deny her points – something fans described as “brutal”.

The clue read: “A Yosemite fall with a thin band of water fluttering in the air like a transparent cloth bears the name of this wedding attire.”

Proulx replied, “What is Bridalveil Falls?”

“No, I’m sorry,” Jennings replied. “It’s actually Bridalveil Fall, so we couldn’t stand it. It says, ‘What is a bridal veil?'”

Fans were upset by Jennings’ decision and complained that it was a “brutal call.”

“Kelly should hold a grudge about this,” one person wrote on the “Jeopardy!” page. Reddit page, while someone else called the decision against her response “extremely pedantic.”
