Veronica Ferres is starring in a Friday crime drama for the first time. The audience has to look twice to recognize them. That’s what she says herself about her new role.

Veronica Ferres can be seen in a TV crime drama this Friday, and the story begins quite strangely: As soon as she stands in the room, she gives the detectives long lectures about what to do. “We urgently need to clarify all of these questions.” Case analyst Dr. Astrid Brockhaus is not necessarily the type of person you would immediately call a popular figure. “A loved and hated disruptive factor in equal measure,” is how film star Veronica Ferres (59, “The Unforgivable”) describes her very first role in a Friday crime thriller.

She will be a guest star for the first time in the series “Murder Sisters – Crime is a Family Matter” on Friday (October 18th, 8:15 p.m.). The episode is called “Explosive.” It will take many people in the audience a few moments to recognize Ferres in his dark wig and large glasses.

“Murder Sisters”: Deadly explosion in Flensburg

What is the crime thriller about? The young social worker Yasmin Balthasar is killed in an explosion in Flensburg. The investigation becomes a race against time because there is a second bomb. Through their research into the crime scene, Felicitas “Feli” Lorentzen (Caroline Hanke) and Dariusz “Dusi” Kowalski (Claudiu Mark Draghici) discover the place where the perpetrator built a booby trap. Feli’s sister Viktoria Lorentzen (Lena Dörrie) is investigating under high pressure when she realizes that Feli was following up on a tip that put her and Dusi’s lives in danger.

As a social worker, Yasmin Balthasar worked to ensure that “their homeless people” could keep their sleeping place in front of the pharmacy in front of which the bomb exploded. But the pharmacist wanted to lose her. Was Yasmin “just” a random victim and the explosion was intended to drive away the homeless?

However, since the bomb could also have a terrorist background, the team receives support from Dr. Astrid Brockhaus – to Viktoria’s surprise. They actually wanted to do the OFA training themselves and now feel provoked by the direct manner of their new colleague. The two women also have different opinions about the investigation.

Veronica Ferres: “Role is fun and unpredictable”

“There are also very exciting developments in the woman’s character when it comes to her private life,” announces Ferres. “My role is funny, very entertaining, exciting and unpredictable. And that immediately appealed to me to be able to play such an unusual female character in this exciting case.”

That’s what particularly appealed to her about the crime series: “I really enjoyed it. Here there are strong female roles, the men’s roles are also exciting and we women can only be good by doing great things together with the men.” The actress believes there should be more material like this. “It is known from all the evaluations and statistics that it is still the case that there are many, many more male roles than female ones.”
