Google launches Android 15 – these phones are first

The development of Android 15 is really strange. But Google has now completed the new version of the operating system and has now started the rollout. The waiting time is now over – at least for owners of Google’s own Pixel devices.

Android 15 is now really ready

Google has released several beta versions of Android 15 in the last few months. Recently it was always said that the new operating system was ready – it wasn’t. Even the Pixel 9 phones have been released with the old Android 14 version, which has never happened before. But now the wait is over – or is it? In fact, Android 15 is ready, but so far it has only been published in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). (Source: Google).

Developers and smartphone manufacturers now have the finished version of Android 15 available and can adapt their apps and devices to it. The first smartphones will probably not be powered until October. This also includes the models from Google:

• Google Pixel 6
• Google Pixel 6 Pro
• Google Pixel 6a
• Google Pixel 7
• Google Pixel 7 Pro
• Google Pixel 7a
• Google Pixel tablet
• Google Pixel Fold
• Google Pixel 8

Other smartphone manufacturers will follow

Other manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, OnePlus and so on will follow in the next few months. Although Google has brought forward the presentation of the Pixel 9 phone, the company is sticking to the old schedule with Android 15. Pixel phones will also be powered in October, all other manufacturers later.

That’s probably why Samsung’s beta test for the Galaxy S24 models hasn’t started yet. Android 15 simply wasn’t ready yet and so everything was delayed. As soon as Android 15 starts on Pixel phones, Samsung or another manufacturer, we will inform you.
