This is how the Red Bull BassLine 2024 will take place in the Stadthalle

For the fourth time this year, the Erste Bank Open (October 19 to 27, 2024) will start on Friday, October 18, with the Red Bull BassLine.

At this show event, six of the world’s best players meet in a fast-paced tournament with thrilling musical accompaniment. The game will be played on the Center Court of the Wiener Stadthalle. A DJ accompanies the parties with rousing beats.

Among others, the number three in the world and last year’s winner Alexander Zverev, the former fourth in the world rankings Kei Nishikori and the Austrian Joel Schwärzler (1st place in the junior world rankings) will be there.

Fans are allowed to determine the group division

At Red Bull BassLine, six players will compete in two groups of three in an entertaining best-of-three tiebreaker format. Tennis fans in the Wiener Stadthalle can use interactive color ribbons to vote for themselves which players will face each other in the group phase.

Within the assigned group, each player plays against each other – a coin toss decides which player starts serving. One thing is certain: The best two athletes will be placed in two groups as group heads based on their world ranking position.

The remaining four athletes will then be assigned to the groups via fan vote. The two group winners contest the final. Whoever gets five points first wins the set. This reinforces the dynamics of the Red Bull BassLine as well as the rule that there is no difference of two points – i.e. whoever scores the next point at 4:4 to make it 5:4 has won the round.
