New Kindle series introduced: For the first time with a color display & new Kindle in matcha green

Amazon today introduced a new line-up of its Kindle series. This also includes the very first Kindle with a color display, the Kindle Colorsoft. The Kindle Scribe and Kindle Paperwhite have also been revised. For the normal Kindle, however, there is a new color variant in matcha green. This means that a suitable Kindle should be offered for every type of reader.

Some models are already available now, others will be delivered from the end of October or December.

Kindle Colorsoft with color display

With the Kindle Colorsoft, Amazon is bringing a Kindle with a color display onto the market for the first time. It is said to deliver “rich colors like on paper” and offer both high contrast and fast display performance. The Colorsoft display features a new light guide with nitride LEDs that enhance colors and increase brightness without blurring details.

It should be possible to choose between different color styles and enlarge images. The Kindle Colorsoft features wireless charging, a battery life of up to eight weeks and is waterproof. In addition, the usual functions such as quick page turning or a front light are included.

Kindle Scribe

The new Kindle Scribe will be released in December and is intended to expand the powerful, digital notebook with some practical innovations. The 300 ppi display is housed in a white frame and is intended to offer a new writing experience thanks to Active Canvas. This allows users to write their annotations directly on the current page and connect the note to the text so that it flows dynamically around what is written.

It also includes a new premium stylus that has the weight and balance of a real pen and uses a new, soft eraser.

Kindle Paperwhite

The Kindle Paperwhite is the best-selling Kindle and is now getting a speed upgrade. With the new version, users should be able to scroll through their library or shop up to 25 percent. The contrast of the display has also been increased, which is 7 inches in size and is thinner than any previous model.

Nevertheless, the Kindle Paperwhite has an impressive battery life of up to three months, is waterproof and has 16 GB of storage space. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition even gets 32 GB of storage, offers wireless charging and an auto-adjusting front light.
