The Arizona Supreme Court said Wednesday it will not block the release of Ruben and Kate Gallego’s divorce records.

The recordings are expected to be released on Thursday, October 17th.

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D) is in the final stretch of his campaign for U.S. Senate against Kari Lake (R).

Lake highlighted Gallego’s divorce during the only debate between the two candidates on October 9.

The next day, the Arizona Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Washington Free Beacon’s lawsuit to unseal the divorce papers.

The Gallegos appealed for the recordings to be kept secret, citing privacy reasons.

Their lawyers argue that the documents contain information about how they planned to co-parent their son, which could jeopardize his safety.

In July, a Yavapai district court ruled that the records would be unsealed, and the Arizona Court of Appeals affirmed that decision last week.

The Gallegos divorced in 2016, a few weeks before the birth of their son Michael.

Ruben remarried to his current wife Sydney in 2021.
