True crime reading between fiction and truth

True crime reading between fiction and truth

In a unique dialogue, the former investigator “interrogates” the court reporter – and vice versa. The trained forensic scientist Frank Schröder worked for the police for almost 30 years, half of which focused on violent crimes, unnatural deaths, gun crime and arson. In addition, the Mägerkinger was a specialist teacher in criminology and criminal law until 2023 as well as acting head of the Institute for Education and Training at the Baden-Württemberg Police University in Biberach an der Riß.

Veit Müller is a freelance journalist and knows Frank Schröder from the courtroom, from which he reported for the region’s daily newspapers for many years. Most recently, the Tübingen native was on tour with Frank Schröder and “Tatort” detective Dietmar Bär, alias Freddy Schenk: The “Crime Cruise” took a ship from Bremerhaven to Great Britain in August, with the “Crime & Poetry” program included board.

According to the organizer’s press release, the two crime experts not only offer exciting insights into true crimes, but also into their captivating crime novels, which are set in Reutlingen or Tübingen and were published by Oertel + Spörer. Short readings from her works transport the audience directly into the darker sides of life. But that’s not all: Schröder and Müller also pick up the guitar and entertain themselves with folk music and musical crime stories, creating a rousing mix of excitement and entertainment that delights both true crime fans and music lovers. After the reading there will be the opportunity to purchase signed books by the two authors.

Admission costs ten euros, with a reduced price of eight euros for people with disabilities. Tickets can be reserved in advance by calling Mariaberg’s public relations department on 07124/923218 and purchased at the box office.
