76ers rookie Jared McCain has been released from the hospital after a horrific fall that may have avoided serious injuries, according to a report

As a result of a frightening fall on Wednesday, Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain was diagnosed with pulmonary contusions (i.e. bruising in the lungs), but he has returned home from the hospital and, according to Chris, there is optimism that he did not suffer a serious injury Haynes. McCain will reportedly be re-evaluated for a concussion on Thursday.

The fall occurred with four minutes remaining in Philly’s 117-95 preseason victory over the Brooklyn Nets. McCain, whom the Sixers took with the 16th overall pick in June, tried to intercept his own missed shot, but while he was in the air, his weight shifted too far behind him and he tipped backwards, crashing to the ground in an extremely weakened position. Philadelphia coach Nick Nurse told reporters after the game that McCain was taken to the hospital because of breathing difficulties.

After the fall, you can see that 20-year-old McCain was very uncomfortable. He held his chest as he turned around and seemed to be having trouble breathing. Here’s a closer look at fall:

McCain lay there for several minutes before he was helped off the ground. After the game, the Sixers said he would be evaluated by the team’s medical staff, including for a concussion.

“It was hard,” the nurse said. “He goes to the hospital to get checked. He was obviously having trouble breathing, I thought he might have lost his breath. But I’m not sure about that.” [I’ve] never fully seen [a fall] Like this one before, so let’s hope he’s okay and we’ll see what the report is from the hospital.

However, Philadelphia forward Kelly Oubre Jr. described McCain as “good.”

“It was very scary. Luckily he caught himself,” Oubre told reporters. “He didn’t fall flat on his back. He’ll feel it tomorrow. That’s exactly what we told him. He just has to take it easy. Make sure he’s 100% ready for opening night.”
