ARCH ENEMY releases music video for new single “Liars & Thieves”

Swedish/Canadian/American extreme metal titans Archenemy have presented their latest single, “Liars and Thieves”from their upcoming album “Blood Dynasty”. The LP announcement and the start of the pre-order period coincided with the start of Archenemy‘s European co-headline tour, “Rise from the North”with ON FLAMES on October 3rd in Glasgow.

Throughout the entire tour “Liars and Thieves” was already performed live when the band announced the release of the new single on stage. Now, with the release of the digital single, fans worldwide can finally experience the track.

“Liars and Thieves” conveys a powerful message of resilience and inner struggle, wrapped in fierce melodic death metal with intense lyrics about fighting deception and enduring hardship.

“Our second single from “Blood Dynasty” is there,” says Archenemy guitarist Michael Amott. ““Liars and Thieves” is a fast, haunting track with a melody that stuck with people – don’t say I didn’t warn you! We played it live recently and it was an absolute beast in the pit. Now it’s time to watch the studio cut!”

He continues: “The accompanying video was shot by the director out here on our ongoing European tour Jens De Voswhich highlights the passion and metal madness of these great shows where fans and band are one!”

“Liars and Thieves” was mixed by Jens Bogren and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios.

Archenemyis the twelfth studio album, “Blood Dynasty” will arrive on March 28, 2025 Century Media Records.

Amott Speaking about the project, they previously said: “This new album pushes the boundaries of what we’ve done before – it’s everything you’d expect from this band and more! We can’t wait for you to hear and feel the energy we put into every track “Blood Dynasty”!”

In addition to the limited deluxe editions with two exclusive bonus tracks, fans can turn their attention to the limited Liquid Blood vinyl, available exclusively in the band stores and limited to 666 copies.

“Dream Thief” marked Archenemyis the first new music since the release of “Cheater” Album released in August 2022.

“Dream Thief” was mixed by Jens Bogren and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios. Directed and produced the video Patric Ullaeus.

Two months ago, Amott told Pulp Magazine about it “Dream Thief” And Archenemy‘s plans for new music: “We’ve definitely been busy and are really focusing on writing and recording new stuff in between the tours we do. But somehow I always come up with new musical and lyrical ideas.” “I just keep going because I enjoy making music anyway “Dream Thief” was written during a songwriting session I was with Daniel [Erlandsson, drums] in Los Angeles, California, two years ago, and then it underwent a lot of remodeling and updating until it reached its final state that you hear now.”

When asked whether it was a conscious decision to return to the “classic”. Archenemy“Direction and approach with “Dream Thief”, Amott said: “I’ve seen really great feedback from the fans and of course that’s always very encouraging. Personally, I don’t know if I would necessarily say that.” “Dream Thief” is a throwback to the sound of the past, but I see what they mean – the song has the energy and speed that is very exciting and infectious. Maybe there is a touch of vintage Archenemy in it, and why not? I’m looking forward to playing it live on stage – I think it’ll be intense as hell.

Archenemy played his first concert with a new guitarist Joey Concepcion on April 24th at Musinsa Garage in Seoul, South Korea. The show was part of ArchenemyAsia tour 2024.

Last December, Archenemy announced that they had “amicably” parted ways with their long-time guitarist Jeff Loomis.

Jeffwho was the main songwriter of his previous group, ALWAYSjoined Archenemy Late 2014, but was not involved in writing the latter act’s last two albums (2017). “Will to Power” and the above “Cheater”.
