“Parish” canceled after one season on AMC

AMC canceled the crime drama after one season. The first season of the adaptation of a British drama series follows The driver Premiere in March.

“We are so proud of it Communityand grateful for the creative talent and performances they were able to bring to the screen, starting with the remarkable Giancarlo Esposito, Skeet Ulrich and the entire cast,” the company said. “We are unfortunately unable to move forward with a second season, but Season 1 remains available on AMC+ for fans who want to relive the thrill of the series and for those who have not yet discovered it.”

In the series, Esposito plays Gracian Parish, a family man and proud owner of a luxury car service in New Orleans. After his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, an encounter with an old friend from his time as a helmsman resurfaces old habits and sends Gracian on a dangerous collision course with a violent crime syndicate.

Community Zackary Momoh also plays New Orleans-based Zimbabwean gangster The Horse; Paula Malcomson as Parish’s wife and mother of his two children, Rose; Skeet Ulrich as Gray’s old acquaintance, Colin; Bonnie Mbuili as Shamiso Tongai, the horse’s wise and protective older sister; Ivan Mbakop as the horse’s brother, Zenzo; Arica Himmel as Gray and Rose’s daughter Makayla; and Dax Rey as Luke, the horse’s son.

Bradley Whitford reprises his role as Anton, the charming and intelligent face of Louisiana’s industrial sector who secretly runs a criminal organization. His dispute with The Horse’s human trafficking ring brings him into direct conflict with Parish. Additionally, Amanda Brugel guest stars in the role of Sister Anne, who has a mysterious past with Gray.

Community was created by Danny Brocklehurst and Jim Poyser. It is produced by AMC Studios in association with A+E Studios and Thruline Entertainment. Brocklehurst serves as co-creator and executive producer. Eduardo Javier Canto and Ryan Maldonado serve as showrunners and executive producers; Esposito is also an executive producer alongside Brocklehurst, Poyser, Jolyon Symonds and David Morrissey for Scribbler Films, Josh Kesselman, Danny Sherman, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson, Theo Travers and Nicola Shindler of Red Production.
