How to watch the 2024 Dominion Energy Charity Classic: TV schedule, live streaming and more

The 2024 Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs begin Friday. “PGA Tour Champions players have played all year for the chance to qualify for the playoffs and compete for the Charles Schwab Cup.” said general manager Steve Schoenfeld. The event will see 69 players compete on the James River Course at the Country Club of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. From World Golf Hall of Famer Ernie Els and Steven Alker in the top spots to Stephen Amednand and Richard Green in third and fourth, the field will be filled with some of the best players on the PGA Tour Champions.

The Dominion Energy Charity Classic is the first of three playoff events that will ultimately determine the Player of the Year. Pretty similar to the FedEx Cup playoffs. If you have booked tickets for the tournament taking place from October 18th to 20th, you are in for an exciting weekend. However, if you can’t make it, you can still be part of the fun from the comfort of your own home.

To watch it from home, all you have to do is stream it on the Golf Channel. As with the PGA Tour, all rounds will be broadcast simultaneously from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All times are ET. You can also use the NBC Sports app for live streaming. There is $2,300,000 in prize money up for grabs, with the winner taking home $350,000.

We know how players qualify for the DP World Tour and FedEx Cup playoffs, but how are the top Charles Schwab Cup players determined? And how does winning the title work? Let’s find out.

Charles Schwab Cup Championship: The ultimate battle of the season

The Charles Schwab Cup playoffs will be held in three tournaments: the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, the Simmons Bank Championship and finally the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in November. Now, before the playoffs begin, the full season money list will be converted to the Charles Schwab points list. In all three playoffs, participating players receive double points. That means $1 equals 2 points.

First, the top 72 players on the list make it into the first tournament after the change at the end of the regular season. After the leaderboard was finalized on Sunday, the top 54 players on the list will advance to next week’s Simmons Bank Championship. Then the final of the playoffs follows after two weeks. Unlike the other two tournaments, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship is played over four days and the top 36 make it to the field.

Whoever wins gets the final title and the trophy, with the prize money of course. What do you think about the playoffs? Let us know in the comments section below!
