  • Probably dry until the weekend of October 26th

Another quiet weekend is ahead. An extensive high pressure cell lies over the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley, keeping rain away until the middle of next week.

The afternoons will trend warmer over the next few days, with highs in the mid to upper 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A very weak system will move through Wednesday night or Thursday next week, producing a few showers, but the bulk of the heavy rain is expected to continue further north into Pennsylvania.

Another dry period will follow through the weekend of October 26th, effectively marking the start of another drought, and according to the Virginia Department of Forestry, Virginia’s fall fire season has begun and will continue through November 30th.

Normal temperatures are expected next week with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the lower to mid 40s.
