DFL is re-tendering TV rights at the end of November

The German Football League (DFL) will repeat the auction for the Bundesliga’s media rights from November 25th. The subject of the tender will be all live and highlight rights packages on TV for the Bundesliga, the 2nd Bundesliga, the relegation and the Supercup in the 2025/2026 to 2028/2029 seasons, as the DFL announced. The Bundesliga and second division clubs were informed about the date on Friday.

The repetition of the auction was necessary following a ruling by the German Institution for Arbitration (DIS). This partially proved the streaming service DAZN right in a legal dispute with the DFL. The loser of the decision was the pay-TV broadcaster Sky, which, according to information from the German Press Agency, won the most important package with 196 live games and lost again due to the verdict.

According to dpa information, DAZN offered around 400 million euros annually for the package – around 1.6 billion euros for the four-year rights period. Calculated over this four-year period, the offer is said to have been around 320 million euros more than the competition.
