Traditional costume fever: dirndls and lederhosen conquer the FH campus festival

Under the motto “Pracht in Tracht – Hüttengaudi” students and alumni of the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences celebrate the campus festival on October 17th to properly ring in the new academic year.

WIENER NEUSTADT. The event on Campus 1 offers a varied program that encourages guests to dance to rousing live music and DJ sets, while at the same time there are exciting competitions with great prizes.

The start of a new semester is like setting off into uncharted waters – exciting but also a little overwhelming. While the first lectures begin and the learning stress slowly increases, the FH Wiener Neustadt campus festival is exactly the right opportunity to clear your head. With a colorful mix of music, good drinks and the chance to meet friends and make new connections, the evening on Campus 1 was a great experience for everyone who started the new academic year together. Verena Hanisch, local councilor of the Wiener Neustadt People’s Party, also insisted on being present at the beer tapping and ceremoniously opening the evening.

“We are here to get to know each other better.” Since we are only in the first semester, the campus festival is the perfect opportunity to meet new people and celebrate together,”

says Jona Brodhagen, student of the Bachelor’s program “Journalism & Corporate Communication”.

Lots of music & unforgettable snapshots

The musical accompaniment of the evening was a real highlight and created the perfect celebratory mood. DJ Steve Ray heated up the crowd with his mix of current hits and timeless classics, creating an energetic atmosphere. The live band “Missing Link” thrilled the guests with their rousing performance and musically crowned the festival. In addition, a selfie station made it even more fun: participants could take creative photos here to remember the moments of the evening.

Endless prices

Students and alumni were also able to win attractive prizes as part of a social media competition. The prizes include vouchers for Le Burger, a flight for two people over Lower Austria, paintball vouchers and tickets for various music events. A special thank you goes to LeBurger Franchise GmbH as the main sponsor, whose support made it possible to provide some of the prizes for the competition.

“I’m really excited to be here!” The campus festival is a great opportunity to make new friends and get to know the FH community better. “The atmosphere is great and the music really puts you in a good mood,”

says Lilo Krüger, FHWN student in the first semester.
