Is the Call of Duty killer already at the end? That’s what Ubisoft says about the latest flop

Ubisoft is currently making headlines quite often. Instead of sales records or outstanding ratings, you attract attention through unpleasant stories. Consider, for example, the allegations of systematic abuse within the company.

But the games from Ubisoft also had a better reputation. Recently, games like Skull and Bones and Star Wars Outlaws have stumbled in the ratings. Many fans were particularly disappointed with the open world game in the galaxy far, far away. And the company’s supposed “Call of Duty killer” is just as unconvincing.

When will XDefiant be released?

XDefiant launched on May 21, 2024. The Free2Play shooter is currently available on the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and is loosely part of the Tom Clancy cosmos. But neither the Free2Play model nor the previous marketing under the name Tom Clancy has been able to help the game so far.

What is the future of the title? Are Ubisoft planning to cancel the shooter soon? Mark Rubin recently commented on exactly this topic via Twitter. Rubin is an executive producer for XDefiant and previously spearheaded the Call of Duty series.
