BROWN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A 15-year-old suspect is accused of shooting a man at Chili’s in Brownwood on Thursday evening.

Alvaro Garcia, 35, is hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the leg following the incident at Chili’s on E Commerce.

According to police, Garcia was at the restaurant when the 15-year-old arrived and began arguing with one of his family members – an argument that escalated when everyone involved left the restaurant and headed to the parking lot.

“As the groups converged in the rear parking lot, Garcia and the juvenile argued and threatened each other, resulting in the juvenile pulling a handgun from his waist area and firing multiple shots at Garcia,” the news release states.

The juvenile fled the scene but was later found in the 1300 block of S 13th Street. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Garcia was airlifted to the hospital in Abilene. His current condition is currently unknown.
