When and where does the tournament take place?

From Saturday the yellow felt balls will be flying again in Basel – but only in qualifying. The top cracks will then take part in the action from Monday. The final will take place on Sunday, October 27th. The game will be played as usual in Basel’s St. Jakobshalle.

Who is pitching?

The Swiss Indoors once again boasts a high-class field of participants. Six top 15 players are registered: Andrej Rublew (ATP 6), Hubert Hurkacz (ATP 7), Casper Ruud (ATP 9), Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 12), Holger Rune (ATP 14) and Ugo Humbert (ATP 15). . Félix-Auger-Aliassime (ATP 21), the Canadian tournament winner in 2022 and 2023, will also be playing in Basel’s St. Jakobshalle.

However, tournament director Roger Brennwald was unable to attract the really big names. Since Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, the four biggest stars of the moment, are making their appearance in Riyadh at the “6 Kings Slam” exhibition spectacle this week, the popular quartet will be taking a break next week.

Which Swiss are at the start?

Thanks to wildcards, at least two Swiss are in the table of the ATP 500 tournament in Basel. Stan Wawrinka (ATP 217) and Dominic Stricker (ATP 317) could continue a remarkable series. Since 2005, a local player has always reached at least the quarter-finals. Roger Federer was primarily responsible for this, winning his home tournament no less than ten times.

What is there to win?

The winner of Basel will receive an impressive prize money of 402,000 euros. The top players are also aiming for important world ranking points for the ATP finals in Turin.
